Job Description

Job Summary:

The Yard Labor is responsible for working as a team member under the direct supervision of the Yard Foreman. The Labor is responsible for executing yard duties in an efficient manner, promote job worksite safety, provide excellent service, and exhibit pride and quality workmanship.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry 50 pounds of material or equipment.

  2. Ability to walk, stand, kneel and/or bend for a long period of time.

  3. Ability to withstand exposure to outside weather conditions: humidity, rain, hot and cold temperatures.

  4. Ability to see with or without corrective aids.

    Job Requirements:

  1. Must be able to work a 5-day schedule, may include weekends and holidays. Must be willing to work 2nd shift or later.

  2. Must be able to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.

  3. Highly motivated, self-driven, and detailed oriented.

  4. Must be professional in appearance and actions.

  5. Maintain good attendance record as well as good punctuality.

  6. Understands and adheres to company and safety policies, proper lifting techniques, and heat stress.

  7. Must be able to properly, efficiently, and safely work with landscape hand tools, skid steer, blower, and other gas-powered equipment.

  8. Must be able to recognize and report deficiencies in landscape and equipment and trucks.

  9. Must pass a criminal background check.

  10. Bilingual preferred.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Loading and unloading landscape equipment.

  2. Attend training and safety meetings and apply the subject matter to day to day task.

  3. Keep yard neat, orderly, and organized.

  4. Follow all direct orders given by Yard Foreman, Fleet Manager, and Purchasing Agent.

  5. Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

  6. Perform inspection and preventative maintenance on gas powered equipment.

  7. Unload trash, spoils, equipment from work trucks.

  8. Load equipment and material on work truck’s. 

  9. Receive and turn in plant inventory sheets.

  10. Safely inspect and operate small engine powered maintenance equipment.

  11. Identify, correct or report work hazards at shop yard.

  12. Complete daily gas fueling reports and coordinate fueling for vehicles and equipment.

  13. Oversee care of stock plant material, fertilizer, and landscape material.

  14. Attend training and safety meetings and apply the subject matter to day to day task.

  15. Work as part of a team.

  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
